We take these drives out of new and remanufactured radios we have stored in a climate-controlled warehouse in such quantity, we'll never sell them all whole. So we strip them and sell them for parts, because the drive is used in other radios. Since there are holes in the tops of the radio cases and warehouses are dirty and dusty, the drive may appear dingy. However, we make sure the laser is clean and we do test each drive before it ships out. Please don't assume you received a used drive, just because it's not sparkling clean. This drive has never been in a vehicle. The drive will also have some numbers stamped on them (in ink) that are not pictured here and it might have foam strip adhered to it that was used to eliminate case vibrations.

This drive should work in many 2000-2002 GM vehicles. Make sure to pop the top off the radio so you can make sure your drive looks like the one pictured here because returns are not accepted for any reason other than functional defect. Even then, your only option will be replacement with the exact same item.

Do not attempt this repair with the radio still plugged in!
