This is a brand new 6 disc CD drive for select Delco radios typically found in Chevrolet/GMC/Cadillac midsize and fullsize trucks, SUVs and vans starting in late 2004. Even though it looks like the same drive used in various other applications (Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Audi, Hyundai, Honda, etc), this is the GM truck/van/SUV version and they are not usually interchangeable. It may also look like the drive used in some Cadillac cars but it is not correct for it either. You are buying at your own risk if you do not have a GM truck/van/SUV.

Known compatible GM radio part numbers are 10357886, 10359565, 10359577, 15234935, 15234936, 15917881, and 15927261. Other part numbers are possible. You will need to pop the top case off your GM truck/van/SUV radio to verify yours has this drive because some of the radios were offered with a different, incompatible drive. If yours doesn't look virtually identical to one of the drives pictured in this ad, this won't work for you. The most important thing to compare are the openings on top of the drives. If yours has two kidney-shaped openings like the one pictured, you can use this one. If your drive looks similar but only has one triangular shaped opening on the top, this isn't the right drive. (You need our item GM-E-8586C-1-2 instead.) Some of the drives with two kidney-shaped openings have a green board on top. Our drive doesn't but, if yours does, you can still use this. You simply unplug the green board from your drive, remove a couple screws and swap the green board to the new drive.

Again, this drive might appear identical to the drive used in some other manufacturer's vehicles but the board on the back is different. It may work if you swap the boards but we cannot guarantee it, so you would be purchasing at your own risk if you don't have a GM truck/van/SUV. Again, There will be no returns accepted for this item for any reason other than functional defect in a vehicle for which it is intended. Functional defect warranty claims will not be honored if you attempted to install it in the wrong vehicle. Even then, only exchanges will be offered, not refunds, so please do your research BEFORE purchasing.

There were several other versions of this drive in GM radios. They are not usually interchangeable. Yours MUST have TWO kidney-shaped openings on the top and your vehicle must be a GM truck, van or SUV. (If yours only has one triangle shaped opening, you need our item GM-E-8586C-1-2 instead.) Again, there will be no returns accepted for this item for any reason other than functional defect. Even then, only exchanges will be offered, not refunds, so please do your research BEFORE purchasing.

Instructions are not included but installation is relatively easy. However, if you're not mechanically inclined, you shouldn't be buying it. Basically, you remove the face by prying it off. Then you remove two screws holding the drive in from the front and two more from the rear. The drive can then be lifted out (carefully) and the ribbon cable pulled free of it. If there is a bracket attached to the back of your drive, it will need swapped to the new one. Make sure you put the screws back in the same holes as before. They are sized differently, even if it isn't obvious by looking. Sometimes customers have problems with the drive continually cycling after install and saying INITIALIZING on the display OR loading CDs fine but not playing them OR saying it is full. This is usually a result of the wrong screw being placed in the hole directly behind the volume/power knob. If you have this problem and you think you've put the screws in the right hole, remove that screw altogether and see if it works then. If it does, you can file the end of the screw down to make it shorter and re-insert it. (Or you can just leave it out. We do not recommend leaving it out but several customers have done so and have not reported any repercussions.) Make sure you do not attempt this repair with the radio still plugged in. After unplugging it, make sure you let the radio sit at least 30 minutes before working on it. Failure to follow this advice can result in a short circuit in your radio.

There is a 6 month replacement warranty on this item. It covers functional defects only.
