This listing includes a wiring adapter and the brand new Ford CD radio shown. It will allow you to upgrade a Ford vehicle with the non-Premium Sound plugs described below. It is critical that you read this ad and check your plugs BEFORE ordering!!
This package works for Ford owners who have the single DIN radio (@ 2" tall) but do NOT have the Premium Sound System. If you've got two long, skinny plugs on your radio that look almost identical (both @ 2" long by 3/8" wide with up to 8 prongs), this package will work for you. It allows you to mount the included CD player (pictured) into your 90s Ford vehicle with the non-Premium Sound plugs. It is a plug and play set-up, as long as you DON'T have the Premium Sound System. If you just have one long, skinny plug and the other is a smaller squarish plug, you have the Premium Sound plugs and this package will NOT work for you! Your plugs must be virtually identical in size to use this package.
If you've done research, you know they didn't offer a CD radio from the factory with the non-Premium Sound plugs. But we specialize in retro-fitting later model CD players in older vehicles and this is one of our offerings. It's a great way to get a newer, reliable Ford CD radio in your vehicle without breaking the bank, jumping through hoops or settling for an aftermarket unit that doesn't look right, is hard to operate and is more likely to get stolen. This radio is a rare OEM Ford radio. Found for only one year in just one model. But it's perfect for this retro-fit package. It is brand new and includes a 120 day warranty.
The wiring adapter is made to order and usually takes 3-4 days to ship. Since it is a special-order item, returns are not accepted for any reason. It does what we say it does for the vehicles, sound systems and radios listed. If you don't have a vehicle listed or didn't bother to make sure you have the plugs described, that's outside our control and we cannot be held accountable for it.
The radio is a Ford radio and it does have the holes in the face for the special Ford removal tools but, unlike most Ford radios, they are covered by skinny 'caps' at each side of the face to give the radio a more finished look.
APPLICATIONS
This package can be used in 1992 to 2000 vehicles that do NOT have the Premium Sound system. Please check your plugs to make sure you have the 'twin' plugs described above. The following vehicles all came with single DIN radios but, again, you must confirm you DON'T have the Premium Sound System first. Don't assume yours isn't Premium Sound just because you have an inexpensive car or only have the base model. Ford put the Premium Sound system in A LOT of vehicles. There really wasn't anything 'Premium' about it, to tell you the truth. The Premium Sound System had one long skinny plug and one smaller squarish plug. This set-up is not compatible with those plugs and no returns are accepted so pull your radio and check your plugs!

Late 80's and early 90's vehicles often had a different illumination circuit, so the button and display back-lighting may not work in those vehicles as delivered. The numbers will still show on the display. It is possible you can change the illumination wires in the harness and make the back-lighting work with older vehicles but instructions for this are not included. Also of note: this does not support the power antenna. If you have this option in your vehicle, you will have to wire it up on it's own switch or rig it so it comes up when you turn the ignition on. Instructions for this are not included.
