DETAILS
This digital iPod Interface by iSimple/Peripheral is a state of the
art product that allows you to directly connect virtually any iPod (see
list below) to the auxiliary input port on the back of your factory
radio. (If you have a BAND button, you have this port.) The cable that
connects this to your radio is a T-harness, so it has an extra plug to
allow you, in most cases, to retain a factory auxiliary input currently
connected to the radio. (DVD, satellite radio, etc) This interface works with factory satellite-ready radios only. (Must have a BAND
button.)
As delivered, this comes with a 30-pin iPod cable that allows connection of many Apple devices. If you have one of the newer devices with the Lightning connector, you will either have to add a 30-pin to Lightning adapter from the Apple Store or add our IPBT-30 Bluetooth receiver that connects to the 30-pin plug and lets you stream audio. (If you are thinking about the Apple adapter, be sure to read the reviews on the Apple website before purchasing. They aren't good. This interface works the way it should with 30-pin Apple products. If you choose to use it with a Lightning adapter and find it doesn't work well, that is not a defect with this interface. It is a problem with the adapter you are trying to use to modify this system and it would not be covered under warranty.) If you are interested in our IPBT-30, it is an available option in the UPGRADES section below.
Unlike some other products, this interface allows two modes of operation: advanced and basic. Advanced mode allows full control of iPod
functions through the radio controls. This
includes: track up/down, playlist selection, shuffle modes, scan and
repeat. Playlist, track name, artist and album name are displayed on
the factory radio when you are in advanced (radio control) mode. Basic mode allows control from the iPod itself, for those of you who like the controls you're already familiar with. If you are in basic
(iPod control) mode, the only feature you can control from the radio is
the volume.
The ISBT21 Bluetooth interface allows you to directly connect your Bluetooth-ready phone.
On one end it connects to the PXAMG Gateway (included) and, on the other, there is a
microphone that you will mount on your visor (or some other common sense
location.)
It uses one of the two inputs you're allowed on the
Gateway.
To make or receive a call, you simply enter satellite radio mode on your
radio. (For most radios, this is as simple as a press of a button.)
Then you'll hear the call audio through the car radio and the included
microphone will pick up your end of the conversation. Caller ID
information is displayed on the radio if you are in satellite mode.
Even if you aren't in satellite mode when a call comes in, you can
always switch to satellite mode before you answer. In fact, you will
have to do this to use this product. If you try to answer without being
in satellite mode, it will not function.
You can also listen to music from your iPhone through the Bluetooth
device using the A2DP streaming*.
This is handy if you want to use the
other input port on the Gateway for some other device. (Sirius, HD Radio or
Aux Input)
The Bluetooth portion of this kit is guaranteed to be compatible with all iPhones. (* However, the 1st Generation iPhone does not support A2DP Streaming Audio.) It has not been tested extensively with any other phones because there is too much variety to make sure it works with everything. However, it should work with all other Bluetooth phones that support A2DP and HFP (Hands Free Profiles) because it was developed using Bluetooth standards. If the Bluetooth feature isn't working, first try a different phone. If that phone works, the problem is the first phone, not this kit. If it doesn't work with any Bluetooth phones, contact us via email to start the Tech Support and/or exchange process.
Unlike competitor's products, this includes an auxiliary (aux) input
cable so you can add another device. (mp3 player, satellite radio, CD
changer, DVD player, etc). You can choose from RCA jacks OR a stereo
mini plug. Or, use the port to add something cooler, like
HD Radio (with the
HDRT tuner package - not included) OR
Sirius satellite with the SCC1
tuner and ISSR11 cable (neither are included.)
You cannot, however,
have more than two sources connected at the same time. The Bluetooth and iPod each count
as a source, so you would have to fore-go use of one of those two connections to free up a port for HD Radio,
Sirius radio or a standard auxiliary input.
(Although you could fore-go use of the iPod cable and utilize the A2DP streaming feature of Bluetooth to stream the songs wirelessly from an iPhone, which would free up one port for another use.) If you want to add Sirius or HD Radio, we encourage you to go to the Satellite Radio or HD Radio listings to read more about these products
before you select one. There are many details about the optional components that are not addressed in this ad.
PLEASE NOTE: We update these interfaces with the latest iSimple firmware before they ship. This is important because it ensures you get the latest features, fixes and application updates. Why take a chance getting an older version, only to find you need to buy a cable, fire up your computer, download some software and figure out how to update it just so it actually works with your vehicle or does what it's supposed to do? Save time, money
and aggravation and buy from ReplacementRadios instead.
Included in this listing:
- iPod interface module (PXAMG)
- Cable to connect iPod to iPod interface
- Bluetooth hands-free kit (ISBT21)
- T-harness to connect iPod interface to 12-pin GM auxiliary input (PGHGM5)

Peripheral and iSimple are owned by the same company and offer the
EXACT same products with different part numbers and packaging. In this case, the ISGM575 package merely contains the PXAMG and PGHGM5 components that are packaged separately if you buy under the Peripheral name brand. Inventory is
constantly changing, so you may receive either the iSimple or Peripheral packaging
but, again, they are
identical.

** Most, but not all of the vehicles marked with this symbol that have
radios with the BAND button are XM capable. (This device uses the XM
functionality for operation.) There is no way to determine this from
the face. We have found it sometimes happens with the vans and is more
likely to occur on vans that were originally government service or fleet
service vehicles. Please be sure to open the packaging from this
product carefully and save it, in case you find yours isn't capable.
Please also make sure to take care when installing the products because
returns are not accepted for items that are no longer in perfect, brand
new condition.
Theftlock will not be activated if you remove your radio. These GM
radios have the VIN assigned to them and yours will work as soon as you
plug it back in since it has your VIN assigned to it.
