DETAILS
Talk about easy! Everything you need to swap a newer GM (Delco) radio into your older GM vehicle. That's right. This wiring and antenna adapter kit makes your newer 21-pin GM radio installation plug and play. Don't cut your factory harness and splice in a different plug. Keep your classic car intact with this wiring kit.
The GM radios from about 1982 to 1988 used a 12 pin plug. (Although some models used the 12-pin plug all the way back in 1973 and some still used it up to 1991.) Most radios from 1989-1999 used a 20 pin plug*. (Even though this is called a 21-pin adapter.) Not only that, but the 80s radios used a larger antenna plug. This kit includes the adapter for the antenna as well.
You just plug the adapters into your 90s 21-pin radio and into the existing plugs in your car and you're ready to start playing your new radio!! This installation requires virtually no technical knowledge or automotive skill.* Many customers have reported completing the install in 15 minutes or less!!
Below is a list of GM models/years that used the 12-pin plug (provided they weren't equipped with a special sound system like Bose, for instance.) If your vehicle is on this list, you can use this adapter to make the wiring plug and play on a newer (90s + some 00-02) radio. However, you will want to make sure the radio will fit in your dash opening first. Please also note that it was not uncommon for GM to switch plug styles in the middle of a model year. So, in some cases, not all cars on this list will have the 12-pin plug in the last year listed for that model. (If you have a 1989 Camaro, for example, you will want to make sure your car does not already have the 21-pin plug before purchasing this adapter.) Here's the list of vehicles that were manufactured with the 12-pin plugs:

NOTES:
- Statements with regard to the ease of installation refer to the wiring and antenna adapters. You are responsible for making sure the newer radio you buy fits in your dash and can be mounted correctly.
- This kit is brand new and is a quality item. The wires aren't spliced. It's solid wire all the way from one plug to the other.
- With the exception of a couple models, all Chevy, GMC and Pontiac radios from 1989 to 1999 used the 20 pin plug. (Commonly called a 21-pin plug.) The same thing applies for most Oldsmobile and Buick radios up to 1994, as well as some 1995 models. Some of the very early 90's Cadillac radios also used the 20-pin plug.
- Some vehicles from the 80s (like the Fiero) had a Performance Sound System. For these vehicles you MAY need to perform a simple wiring mod in order for the sub to function properly. I have instructions for this mod on the INSTRUCTIONS page.
- I am not responsible if you choose a radio that does not have the 21 pin plug. Nor am I responsible if you choose a radio that you are not able to get mounted. There are many radios that are a direct fit or can be made to fit pretty easily, but that is up to you.
