DETAILS
This BRAND NEW Chrysler iPod input
adapter kit allows you to listen to audio from an iPod through your
factory radio. (Audio and charging only. It does not allow for control of the iPod or text display on the radio.) On one end, it plugs into the auxiliary input on the
back of your factory radio and, on the other, it provides female RCA
inputs. We include an iPod cable that connects to these RCA inputs and converts them to the proprietary plug on the bottom of your iPod. (Or, forego the iPod and use the RCA connections to add a non-factory CD changer, an MP3 player, CD changer, satellite radio, etc.) A direct connection is FAR superior to the sound quality you get using an RF modulated OR cassette adapter device. If the device you are trying to attach is not an iPod or does not have RCA connections, you will have to obtain
an adapter to go from RCA to whatever connection type you require. We
carry RCA to stereo mini (headphone) adapters. Please
email if you have questions.
Additionally, this has a built in XM input that, with the included BONUS
cables, will allow you to connect this unit to an XM Direct satellite
tuner and antenna kit (XMD1000) instead of using it as an iPod or Aux input. Why settle for a plain old auxiliary input when you can get
one with XM capability and two BONUS cables for the same price or less?! (The Terk XMD1000 tuner/antenna is not
included.)
This is for 2002+ 'oval' style radios with the square 22-pin main plug
and the square 10-pin auxiliary plug. It replicates the satellite
functionality, so it IS compatible with the RBQ CD6 radios, unlike most
other aux input adapters that only replicate CD Changer functionality
and can NOT be used with the RBQ. (Yes, we are sure. Yes, we know other people have told you nothing exists for the RBQ. Yes, they were wrong.) It is also compatible with the RAH, RAZ, RBK, RBP, RBU and RB1 (56038629AH, AI or newer RB1 ONLY) radios. You will use the MODE button to access this device. Once it is connected, you will see an option for it.
Some vehicles in early 2002 still used the 'oval' radios with the older
'twin' 7 pin plugs and the round 8-pin changer plug. If you've got a
2002, make sure you have these newer plugs before ordering. If you
don't, this cannot be made to work for you.
