DETAILS

This Digital iSimple iPod Interface by Peripheral is a state of the art product that allows you to directly connect a variety of iPods (see list below) to the auxiliary input port of your factory radio.

As delivered, this comes with a 30-pin iPod cable that allows connection of many Apple devices. If you have one of the newer devices with the Lightning connector, you will either have to add a 30-pin to Lightning adapter from the Apple Store or add our IPBT-30 Bluetooth receiver that connects to the 30-pin plug and lets you stream audio. (If you are thinking about the Apple adapter, be sure to read the reviews on the Apple website before purchasing. They aren't good. This interface works the way it should, with 30-pin Apple products. If you choose to use it with a Lightning adapter and find it doesn't work well, that is not a defect with this interface. It is a problem with the adapter you are trying to use to modify this system and it would not be covered under warranty.) If you are interested in our IPBT-30, it is an available option in the UPGRADES section below.

Unlike some other products, this interface allows control of iPod functions through the radio controls OR from the iPod itself. This includes: track up/down, playlist selection, shuffle modes, scan and repeat.

This works with factory CD-changer ready radios but the CD changer, if so equipped, must be disconnected for use. Playlist number and track number are displayed on the factory radio when you are in radio control mode. If you are in iPod control mode, the only feature you can control from the radio is the volume.

Unlike competitor's products, this includes an auxiliary (aux) input cable so you can add another device. (mp3 player, satellite radio, CD changer, DVD player, etc). You can choose from RCA jacks OR a stereo mini plug.

For superior performance, only Apple-licensed connectors are used, not knock-offs. It also charges your iPod while it is connected.

  • Cable to connect iPod to iPod interface
  • T-harness to connect iPod interface to VW auxiliary input (PGHVW3)
