DETAILS

The ISBT21 Bluetooth interface allows you to directly connect your phone to your Peripheral/iSimple PXAMG Gateway. The Gateway is required but is not included. It is sold with vehicle-specific cabling in the iPod Interfaces category. On one end it connects to the Gateway and, on the other, there is a microphone that you will mount on your visor (or some other common sense location.) It uses one of the two inputs you're allowed on the Gateway. (You can read more about the Gateway in the iPod Interfaces category.)

To make or receive a call, you simply enter satellite radio mode on your radio. (For most radios, this is as simple as a press of a button.) Then you'll hear the call audio through the car radio and the included microphone will pick up your end of the conversation. Caller ID information is displayed on the radio if you are in satellite mode. Even if you aren't in satellite mode when a call comes in, you can always switch to satellite mode before you answer. In fact, you will have to do this to use this product. If you try to answer without being in satellite mode, it will disconnect and will not function. (GM vehicles that use the ISGM571 or PXAMG/PGHGM1 will switch automatically without you having to hit the BAND button to enter satellite mode.)

You can also listen to music from your iPhone through the Bluetooth device using the A2DP streaming*. This is handy if you want to use the other input on the Gateway for some other device. (Sirius, HD Radio, Aux Input, etc)

Your factory radio must be capable of receiving satellite radio in order to use this product. You do not need satellite equipment and/or service to use this. Just a radio that is satellite capable. (And the iSimple/Peripheral PXAMG Gateway for your vehicle, as mentioned above.)

The Bluetooth portion of this kit is guaranteed to be compatible with all iPhones. (* However, the 1st Generation iPhone does not support A2DP Streaming Audio.) It has not been tested extensively with any other phones because there is too much variety to make sure it works with everything. However, it should work with all other Bluetooth phones that support A2DP and HFP (Hands Free Profiles) because it was developed using Bluetooth standards. If the Bluetooth feature isn't working, first try a different phone. If that phone works, the problem is the first phone, not this kit. If it doesn't work with any Bluetooth phones, contact us via email to start the Tech Support and/or exchange process.
