INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Installation is not really hard. It is just a little time-consuming. (It takes us about 20 minutes, but we have done several of them.) Don't let these instructions scare you away. Good, detailed instructions will always be a little lengthy... The console does not need to come out of the vehicle. You just have to disassemble part of it. Basically, you're removing the tail section only. Here goes...

Installation will require partial disassembly of your console. You will need to pull the lower plastic tail section from your console to access the two screws that hold this Upper End Cap in place. The lower tail is just held on with pressure connectors. (Six, I believe.) If you cannot get your hand under the bottom edge of the lower tail, you will need to use a plastic pry tool to get in from each side and pry the very bottom out. Then you should be able to use your hands to pop the remaining clips loose. Once you remove it, you will find one or two wiring connectors holding it on. It's best to push the pressure tabs on those and remove them from the plugs so you can get the lower tail out of the way. Then you can usually force a philips bit up into the console to get at the two screws (one on each end) that hold the Upper Cap in place. (We're able to here anyway.) If not, you can either use a dremel to remove some of the plastic material keeping you from getting a straight shot at the screws or you can remove the whole console lid to gain access to the screws. If you want to do the latter and need instructions, please let us know.
