Display and Volume Repairs-Many 96+ Pontiac CD or cassette radio
SOLD OUT
This item has been marked as SOLD OUT because we can no longer get the parts for the volume repair. We still offer the display repair by itself in a separate listing.

Do you have a 1996+ Pontiac radio with a burnt out display? Is the volume control problematic as well? Is it a radio from one of the vehicles in the application list below? If so, this is the repair service for you. Simply complete the payment process and send your radio to us for the repair. We will perform BOTH repairs within 3 business days of receiving your radio. And we do it with BRAND NEW parts, not used parts that could fail again in a matter of weeks. Consequently, we offer a 6 month warranty on this service.

This service is not for radios that have no or VERY low volume. Especially if the volume loss happened all of a sudden. That is most likely an amplifier problem. If you have the problem this particular repair is listed for, you will, at some point, have experienced the volume going up when you are trying to turn it down or vice versa. This problem will gradually get worse until you may get little volume response at all when turning the controller on the radio.

This service is not for radios that have a scrambled display or a display where only portions of the LCD go out. It is for radios where the entire display goes dark and there were no scrambling issues prior to it doing that.

INSTRUCTIONS
You will purchase the repair from this listing first. Then you will send your radio AND a copy of the payment confirmation email OR the Order Process email to:

    Replacement Radios
    Attn: Repairs
    2301 S Banker St, Ste B
    Effingham, IL 62401
Please purchase delivery confirmation if you use USPS. (Tracking is included with UPS and Fedex.) Our techs do not answer inquiries, so questions about receipt of your package or estimated completion date will NOT be answered. Your tracking number shows when we received the package. The repair turn-around time is indicated above. You will receive a tracking number when it ships back out. If there is a problem or unexpected delay, we will contact you. Calling or emailing us about progress only serves to slow down progress. We know it's tough to go without a radio for a week or more but please be patient. Factory service centers take 3+ weeks to perform repairs, so we're clearly exceeding the standard.

Use common sense!! Please do not send your package without the requested paperwork or, at the very least, a note that indicates your Order Number. Between inventory, repairs, and returns, we get hundreds of items every week. Packages that show up without any documentation WILL experience a significant delay in processing.

ADDITIONAL INFO
This service is for the burnt out displays and volume control problems on radios that look like (or are VERY similiar to) the one pictured only. (Either am/fm/cd or am/fm/cass in either the bass/treble or 7 band EQ versions). Here is a list of vehicles that were offered with these radios:
  • Firebird and Trans Am (TA): 1996 - 2002
  • Grand Prix: 1996-2003
  • Grand Am: 1996-2000
  • Bonneville: 1996-1999
  • Sunfire: 1996-1999
  • Tran Sport and Montana: 1997 - 1999

If you have another style of radio or your radio needs other repairs (for instance, a scrambled display), please contact us for an estimate.

DISCLAIMER: Repair prices are based on the assumption that the radio is in it's native state. If it has been damaged by prior attempts to diagnose or repair a problem, additional parts may be required and, if so, additional costs will be incurred. Should we find this to be the case with your radio, we'll contact you BEFORE doing any additional work. However, should you elect not to have the additional work completed or if your radio is not repairable because it has a different problem from the one described here, there will be no refund for time and materials already put into the radio.

Make sure to remove any CDs or cassettes that are in your radio BEFORE you ship it. The units are prone to damage during shipping if they still have media in them.
