DETAILS

This is a complete harness that connects the factory original rear entertainment video system to the factory radio. It also accommodates either the remote CD changer or the Sirius satellite tuner option that was found in some vehicles. This is the only additional wiring needed in order to add the factory DVD system to most Ford/Lincoln/Mercury vehicles not equipped with the system from the factory*. If your vehicle was not originally equipped with the DVD system, it doesn't have this harness, so you need it. (If you had the DVD system and someone stripped or damaged the harness, please note this is not the factory harness, so colors will not match what's left of your existing harness, if applicable.)

This is a one-piece harness that goes all the way from the DVD player to the radio and it is designed to connect the DVD player to the radio only. An example of the DVD system this harness would be used with is pictured at the bottom of this listing.

If you are adding factory DVD to a vehicle, you must make sure your head unit is capable of controlling the rear video system. (Most CD6 and navigation radios were.) You will also need a remote and headphones.

Please note: if your vehicle was not originally equipped with the DVD option, be prepared to do some work. This harness will need routed above the headliner and behind the pillar covers. Please do your research BEFORE purchasing, as there are no returns. We are not responsible if you are unable to get it routed or change your mind. We are also not responsible for any damage your vehicle sustains during an install.

* = Some vehicles require a wire to be run if you want the button back-lights to work on the DVD player when the headlights are turned on. The F150 is a known example of this. Please be aware that you may encounter this issue. Most Ford vehicles turn the illumination on through the CAN-BUS data wire and those vehicles will be fine.

FYI: There are several loose wires in this harness that aren't connected to anything. They are not needed. Do NOT attempt to connect them to anything.
