SUMMARY
GM radios have a reputation for horrible button wear. If you're in need of a knob and button set for a GM Car/SUV CD radio from the applications listed below, you've come to the right place. This is a brand new knob and button set. It contains all the knobs and buttons pictured on the face in this ad. They are intended for the single CD radio, although you can use some of them in the CD6 radios. (Read on.)
The knobs and buttons work on U1C, UN0 and US8 single CD radios from the vehicles listed here, as well as the UC6 CD6* radio. (Those are option codes. You can find yours on the sticker in your glovebox.) *It does not have all the buttons normally found on the CD6 radio. You can tell this by comparing our picture to your CD6 radio. If you have the CD6 radio you will have to re-use those additional buttons from your current radio. You can see it has some extra buttons not found on the U1C radio. Not a big deal. Discard the ones you don't need.
The metallic faceplate shown is not guaranteed to be included. It is primarily for your reference. This is a listing for the buttons!! Having said that, we do, from time to time, include a face and board if we've got a bunch of extras lying around. You would need to remove the knobs from the front and the board from the back (in that order) to get at the buttons. It's very easy to do. Surely it's not an issue if you get more than you bid on, right?!
You can see that some of these buttons may be labeled differently from yours. The label does not affect function of the button. You will know what button you have to press, even if they are labeled differently. Besides, they look FAR better than horribly worn buttons, right?
Don't settle for cheap aftermarket stickers that are clearly identifiable as such and are subject to wrinkling and peeling. Spend a little extra time and money to do it right. Replace the buttons with brand new originals!
This is for the set of knobs and buttons, as pictured in the face in this ad. (The faceplate is for reference purposes and is not to be considered part of your bid.) Our ad is accurate and thorough, so you should be able to tell if you're getting the right thing if you simply read it. For this reason, returns are not accepted.
Installation instructions are not included. You shouldn't be repairing a radio if you're not qualified. Having said that, installation of the knobs (and buttons inside them) is easy. The old ones pop off with the knobs if you give them a firm tug. The other buttons, however, require removal of the face and the control-display board behind the face. Again, you shouldn't be doing this if you're not qualified. Do NOT attempt to replace any radio parts with the radio still plugged in the vehicle!! Unplug it and let it sit a minimum of 30 minutes before working on it!
