This was a simple swap out, and works perfect in my 2004 Suburban. A couple notes: (1) be sure and check your old unit before you order. Although my vehicle was sold as a 2004, it was manufactured in late 2003 and used this earlier generation player. The GM 2004+ unit would not have worked, and (2) the wiring harness on my vehicle was bundled/wrapped after the radio was installed, so it was tricky to pull out the radio without damaging the harness. By removing the temperature control unit, I was able to get my hand behind the radio and gently pull the harness free. Once this was done, the radio was easy to remove and re-install. Total time to replace the unit was about 45 minutes.
