APPLICATION CHART

Radios with this same basic board were offered in the following applications.  A list of known radio part numbers this board will work with also appears below the application chart. This board works on ALL am/fm/cd/cassette AND am/fm/cd radios in the following vehicles EXCEPT the U1C CD radio in fullsize vans.  Yes, even though it looks like a CD/Cass face, you can put it on your am/fm/cd radio.  (Pull your am/fm/cd face and you will see you have the cut-out for the cassette too...)

*** You MUST disconnect your radio from the vehicle harness and let it sit for at least 30 minutes before attempting to replace the board. Failure to do so can result in an electrical short that ruins the illumination circuit in your radio. (Meaning a replacement control board will not be able to solve the problem.) This is CRITICAL!! Do NOT attempt the repair with the radio still plugged in. Do not even attempt to remove the old board while the radio is still plugged in. We have had MANY people ignore this warning and then call in, wondering why none of their lights works now. We are NOT responsible if you choose to ignore this warning and returns will NOT be accepted in these situations.

DETAILS

This is a rebuilt board with all new bulbs behind the buttons. If we are running low on boards for rebuilding, there will be a Core Charge. If you see a Core Charge (other than $0) added to your order, we can use your board for future customers, if it's rebuildable. We will refund the core charge that is automatically added to this order if you send your good, rebuildable board to the address on your invoice (within 30 days of purchase) and include a copy of the invoice with the word 'CORE' written on it. If there is a $0 core charge added to your order, we do not require your core at this time and you will not qualify for a refund if you send it. If you send a core but your board has been damaged by a prior attempt to diagnose or repair the problem (or has some other electrical issue), you will not receive the core credit. Basically, the only problem we'll accept is burnt out bulbs. One of the other common problems with these is wires that are pulled out of the plugs . This occurs when the radio is dis-assembled improperly. Do yourself a favor and follow the basic instructions below for dis-assembly of your radio.

If all your button lighting is out, your problem might not be this board. It might be the mainboard inside the radio, which we do not repair or sell. If you know all your lighting went out at once, it's definitely not this board and buying it won't fix your problem. Further, we don't issue refunds, credits or exchanges for parts, so make sure you check your radio before ordering this part. If all your lights are out behind the buttons, do not order this part.

This does NOT work for any vehicles not listed.  Please don't assume that, just because it looks like the car and minivan board, it will work.  It's different.  Some of the parts may be the same but it is NOT a direct swap!! Returns are not accepted for parts ordered in error.

Install Advice

Installation is pretty easy. The very first thing you MUST do is unplug the radio from the vehicle or disconnect the negative battery terminal and let the radio sit for at least 30 minutes!! To dis-assemble it, you will need a regular screwdriver to remove the top and bottom plates, a 3/16 nut driver to remove the cassette drive (if applicable) and a 1/8 nut driver to remove the display/control board from your face. You need to disconnect all three plugs for the board BEFORE removing the face. One is under the top plate and two are under the bottom plate, under the cassette drive (if applicable.) You will also have to pull the knobs off the face before removing the screws holding the board to the face.
