This radio, like all the new GM radios, is designed to work in conjunction with your car's computer. Consequently, you may need your dealer to program the computer once it is installed in your car. Since this is new, you should have a high level of functionality without the programming but we believe it's better to have a good surprise than a bad one, so we tell people to plan on programming.
