This cable is intended to allow you to play audio through the proprietary USB input on the back of select import vehicles. (The T1815 stereo from this site, for instance.) It can read flash drives loaded with MP3 or WMA music files. You can also plug in your compatible iPod to this port, which not only charges the device but also allows it to be controlled by using the interface dial or the steering wheel-mounted audio controls.
