This cable is designed to extend an existing USB cable and/or 3.5mm aux in your vehicle. Commonly used to mount it in the glove box or console for the purpose of connecting a USB and/or aux input so the cables are out of sight. (Use it with the Grom Audio USB interfaces we sell, for instance.) That way you don't have a loose cable running somewhere that is constantly falling between the seats, etc.

This product in itself does not allow control of a USB or aux device. It is merely for extending or replacing an existing cable. If your existing cable is attached to a device that allows control or access of the USB device, you're golden and that's who we're marketing to. Likewise, if your existing USB cable allows charging, it will pass through this cable as well. But merely adding this cable will not facilitate charging unless the device it is attached to supports charging.
