If you've got a 2003+ GM truck, fullsize van or SUV radio that is approximately 4 3/8 inches tall and looks very similiar to the one pictured, this is the button lighting repair service for you. We will replace all the lights behind the buttons (typically within 3 business days) and return the radio to you. A 6 month warranty applies for this repair. This repair does not apply to CD6 radios.
If all your button lighting is out, your problem might not be the display/control board. It might be the mainboard inside the radio, which we do not repair or sell. If you know all your lighting went out at once, it's not this board and buying this repair won't fix your problem. Further, we don't issue full refunds for repairs. We will deduct expenses for whatever time and return shipping expenses we have in it, so make sure you check your radio before ordering this repair. If all your lights are out behind the buttons, do not order this repair.
Your existing board will be required as a core. If you know your board has been damaged (usually from a novice attempting a repair), make sure to choose the Core Charge from the OPTIONS section below.

Please take note of your tracking number. Our techs do not answer inquiries, so questions about receipt of your package or estimated completion date will NOT be answered. Your tracking number shows when we received the package. The repair turn-around time is indicated above. You will receive a tracking number when it ships back out. If there is a problem or unexpected delay, we will contact you. Calling or emailing us about progress only serves to slow down progress. We know it's tough to go without a radio for a week or more but please be patient. Factory service centers take 3+ weeks to perform repairs, so we're clearly exceeding the standard.
Use common sense!! Please do not send your package without the requested paperwork or, at the very least, a note that indicates your Order Number. Between inventory, repairs, and returns, we get hundreds of items every week. Packages that show up without any documentation WILL experience a significant delay in processing.
DETAILS
Your board will be required as a core. (We install a board from inventory that has already had the lights replaced in order to get your radio back to you as quickly as possible.) If your board is damaged (usually from prior repair attempts) or has a problem besides the button lighting, a core charge will apply in addition to the amount you have paid here since we will not be able to re-use your board. We will contact you and let you know before completing the repair but, should you elect not to have the work done after-all, there will be no refund for the time we put into it. You will have a $40 labor charge, including the return shipping. The remainder of your original payment would be refunded to you and your radio will be returned to you in it's original state. If you know your board has another problem, please select the Core Charge from the OPTIONS section below. It will speed up your repair.
If your button lighting went out all at once, you may have a problem on the mainboard, which we will not be able to repair. If your button lights went out in groups, or you've just got a few out, we should be able to repair your radio.
This repair will address problems with burnt out illumination behind the buttons on CD or CD/Cassette radios. (This repair is not for CD6 radios.) All bulbs behind the buttons are replaced to help reduce the chances of problems again in the near future. Any other repairs which are required are not covered at this price. If you need an additional repair, please contact us for a repair estimate.
The radio pictured above is merely an example of one of the common GM radios from this era.
DISCLAIMER: Repair prices are based on the assumption that the radio is in it's native state. If it has been damaged by prior attempts to diagnose or repair a problem, additional parts may be required and, if so, additional costs will be incurred. Should we find this to be the case with your radio, we'll contact you BEFORE doing any additional work. However, should you elect not to have the additional work completed, there will be no refund for time and materials already put into the radio.
Make sure to remove any CDs or cassettes that are in your radio BEFORE you ship it. The units are prone to damage during shipping if they still have media in them.
