If you're in need of a
brand new
button for a GM truck/SUV CD or CD/Cassette radio like those pictured below, you've come to the right place. GM has clamped down on these so they're getting
really
hard to find! Compatible radios started appearing in 2003 in full-size trucks/SUVs (and 2004 in full-size vans and mid-size SUVs.)
However, just because your vehicle is a 2003 or newer does NOT mean you should be ordering from this listing.
Some vehicles used other styles up to 2005.
To determine if these are the right buttons for you, pull your volume assembly off. If there is green and white plastic behind the button, this is the right listing. If, however, you have a metal shaft sticking out of the radio, you
cannot
use these. You need to be in our 2000+ car/mini-van listing instead.
This is NOT a listing for CD6 radio parts. Those buttons were different, except for the Volume and, possibly, the Tune button. (See more details below on the Tune button.)
This is for
ONE
knob or button.
Please indicate your year, vehicle, radio type and knob/button below.
There are no quantity breaks. If you need multiple buttons, you need to add this item to your cart multiple times and select the appropriate button from the list each time.
Please note: some buttons cost more. The
extra
amount is indicated in the drop-down box. (Yes, the Volume and Tune buttons are
very
expensive. We have less of them than any other button and can't get any more.)
If your button is not listed, choose the Any Other Button option and specify which button you need in the comments box as you check out.
Installation instructions are not included. You shouldn't be repairing a radio if you're not qualified. Having said that, installation of the volume, tune and audio knobs are easy. The old ones pop off if you give them a firm tug. All other buttons require removal of the radio, then the radio face and, finally, the board from the back of the face.
Make sure the radio is unplugged from the vehicle before it is repaired!!
Your VIN is stored in memory so the radio won't lock.
These radios use a two-piece arrangement for the volume/power, as well as tune/info. There is a knob around the outside and a button on the inside. These parts are listed individually in the drop-down below. If you order the volume knob you will NOT receive the power button. Likewise, if you order the power button you will NOT receive the volume knob. They must each be selected separately and paid for accordingly.
A very small number of radios have a Tune knob that was rotated 45 degrees and the print on this Tune knob will be off-kilter, as a result. If you want to see if yours has the rotated Tune knob, pull your existing Tune knob off, along with the white shaft behind it. Then look at the green socket that is left on the board when you remove the white shaft. If there is a groove on the inside of the socket at the very bottom of it, as well as grooves 90 degrees to each direction of the bottom one, this will work for you.
Some radio part numbers known to use these parts: 10356164, 10357894, 10359566, 10359576, 15104155, 15104156, 15138488, 15184932, 15184933, 15198700, 15198701, 15216905, 15295371, 15295372, 15837848, 15849619 and 15850275.
If you have the basic U1C CD radio (the second one pictured below) that does not have the AUDIO knob, specify this in the comments, as the knobs and buttons are a little different from the others pictured. Please note: the U1C radios
do
have a metal shaft sticking out if you pull the volume knob off but this radio is excluded from the metal shaft comments indicated earlier. It is the
only
radio that is excluded!
The new version of the CD/Cass fullsize truck/SUV radio has a couple buttons
that are labeled differently. The most notable one is the Tune button.
The new version usually says Tune/Recall/P-Type. You may receive the newer
version. Obviously the button will still perform the correct function but will
have the slightly different labeling.
This is the U1C version. If you have this radio, be sure to select it below.

Yes, the Volume and Tune buttons are expensive. We covered that earlier. If you try to avoid the premium by selecting 'Any Other Button' from the list, then putting 'Volume button' in the comments, we WILL catch it and we will have to cancel the order and withhold money from your refund to cover our expenses! We can't help that GM clamped down on these. If you want to get mad at someone, get mad at GM. We aren't even supposed to have these...
