APPLICATIONS

Make sure your part number ends in 18C815-A something or 18C815-B something (AA, AB, BA, BB, etc) because they did make different versions and returns are not accepted for anything other than a warranty exchange. This radio was designed to be used with the factory subwoofer, for instance, so it often lacks bass if used in any other system.
  • Ford Crown Victoria: 2005-2011
  • Mercury Grand Marquis: 2005-2011

ADDITIONAL INFO

If your original factory radio did not have a CD drive this won't work for you unless you add our RS-FDWA-WPP2 wiring adapter. (That means it does not work in Police Interceptor models without the adapter.) Even then, you will still have bass issues since this radio is designed to be used with a subwoofer system. -- If your current factory radio does not have two small holes at the outside edges of the face, this radio is NOT the right one for you. -- If your current factory radio has black plugs instead of the gray 'Phase II' plugs pictured, this is NOT the right radio for you. (Although some plugs can be adapted with one of our wiring adapters.)

If your current radio is not a CD6, you risk it not sounding quite right in your vehicle, since the CD6 radios were usually used with a special sound system. It may sound tinny in a vehicle for which it was not intended.

This has a non-standard radio tuner because it was not originally intended for use in the US. As a result, FM frequencies go up one number at a time instead of two. (98.9-99.0-99.1, instead of 98.9-99.1-99.3.) The AM frequencies also go up in odd increments, which can result in not being able to tune in to the exact frequency you need. It is usually close enough that it will still work but it seems strange and you may not be satisfied with it. If you are a heavy AM user, you might want to consider a different radio.

The plug casing may look slightly different on this one, compared to the older style. And the back of the radio is obviously
designed differently, with the plugs in different locations, but, despite that, this still takes the same plugs as the older
versions.
