This is a
brand new 6 disc CD drive for select Honda radios. Even though it looks like the same drive used in various other applications (Ford, Nissan, Toyota, Audi, Hyundai, GM, etc), this is the Honda version and they are not usually interchangeable. You will need to pop the top case off your Honda radio to verify yours has this drive because some of the radios were offered with a different, incompatible drive. If yours doesn't look
exactly like the one pictured, it won't work for you.
There will be no returns accepted for this item for any reason other than functional defect. Even then, only exchanges will be offered, not refunds, so please do your research BEFORE purchasing.
Again, this drive might appear identical to the drive used in some other manufacturer's vehicles but the board on the back is different. It
may work if you swap the boards but we cannot guarantee it, so you would be purchasing at your own risk if you don't have a Honda vehicle. Again, There will be no returns accepted for this item for any reason other than functional defect. Even then, only exchanges will be offered, not refunds, so please do your research BEFORE purchasing.
There were several other versions of this drive in Honda radios as well. They are not interchangeable.
Yours MUST have NO green board on the top and have PCB number E-9060A-1 or E-9060A-2 printed on the green board on the bottom side. Again, there will be no returns accepted for this item for any reason other than functional defect. Even then, only exchanges will be offered, not refunds, so please do your research BEFORE purchasing.
Installation instructions are NOT included. Nor will we be able to walk you through them over the phone. Basically, if you don't know what you're doing, you shouldn't be buying it. You should be sending your radio to use for the replacement of this drive instead. That service is under the Repairs category and includes return shipping.
These drives are tested before they leave here and do not normally develop problems in shipping. If you install the drive and it will not initialize (or finish initializing) you could have a compatibility or installation problem. The first thing to be aware of is the need for using the screws in the exact holes they came out of. The front left screw is ever so slightly shorter than the others and putting a longer screw in that hole will result in interference with the CD mechanism. If you over-tighten the screws you could have the same problem. To test for a screw interference problem, remove the front left screw entirely, re-assemble the radio and see if the CD drive initializes properly. If so you can either leave it out, put it pack in but don't tighten it as tight, or file the end of it off. If leaving the screw out does NOT solve your problem, please send us a message with your vehicle year and model, as well as the radio code from the face of your radio. (Embossed in small white or gold print on the face of every Honda/Acura radio. Typically four characters. 7BK1, for example.)
