DETAILS
When combined with your Sirius SCC1 tuner, this package will allow you to listen to and control all 150+ channels of Sirius satellite radio directly through your satellite-capable factory radio. (See the application list below.) Your SCC1 tuner is also capable of receiving the Best of XM programming. (Additional subscription fees may apply.) It displays the same type of information (station #, song
title, artist name, etc) as the factory satellite kits, yet it costs
less. The vehicle-specific cabling DOES include a T-harness that will
allow you to retain some factory options, if so equipped. This kit is not compatible with the Rear Seat Entertainment video system though.
Unlike external tuners that clutter up your dash and attract thieves,
this interface allows control of Sirius satellite radio through your
existing factory radio. It is also directly connected to the factory
radio via the auxiliary input port on the back. That means you don't
have to rely on the poor performance of an FM modulator or cassette
adapter. (Removal of the radio will be required for installation. We
have instructions for some vehicles. Please ask WITH your order and we
will include them if we can.) It does allow some basic controls from the steering wheel audio control buttons, if so equipped.
The factory radio MUST have an XM, XM/AUX or SAT/AUX button for this
product to work. If your vehicle is equipped with a factory
satellite tuner you will have to disconnect it.
The included auxiliary input cable has both RCA and stereo mini plugs.
You can use either (but not both at the same time) to add audio from
another source. This allows you to listen to DVD audio, an mp3 player,
an iPod, a CD changer, etc over the factory sound system and control
volume from the radio or steering wheel controls (if so equipped).
There is also an iPod cable option. (See OPTIONS below.) With the optional cable you can directly connect your Apple device using the USB cable that came with it. Since it is a USB port, that means you can connect either the 30-pin or the Lightning cable. (You will have to fore-go use of the auxiliary cable if you plan on using the iPod cable, as there is only one extra port on this device.) There are
two modes of iPod operation; advanced and basic. Unlike some other
products, this interface allows control of iPod
functions through the radio controls when in advanced mode. This
includes: track up/down, playlist selection, shuffle modes, scan and
repeat. Artist, album, song and playlist text are displayed in advanced
iPod mode if the radio is satellite capable. Basic iPod mode allows
you control from the iPod. In basic mode, there is no text display on
the radio screen or control from the radio, other than volume.
Or, use the port to add something cooler, like Bluetooth or HD radio The ISBT21 Bluetooth kit (not included) can be added to this interface instead of the iPod or Aux cable. However, if you are using an iPhone, you can stream music from it wirelessly using the A2DP Bluetooth feature, so it's like having three sources connected: satellite radio, phone through Bluetooth and music through Bluetooth. Please see our ISBT21 ad for additional information on this Bluetooth kit. The HDRT HD Radio tuner kit (not included) can be added to this interface instead of the iPod or Aux cable. Please see our ad for the HDRT for additional information on that product.
Please note that you can only have two input sources connected at one time, counting the satellite tuner. This means you can have either the iPod cable OR the auxiliary cable OR Bluetooth kit OR the HD Radio kit connected at the same time as the satellite tuner.
You MUST already have the SCC1 tuner and antenna kit. It is not included. Please email us if you require more information.
