Do you have a newer (2000+) Pontiac radio with a burnt out display? Does it look very similiar to the radio pictured? If so, this is the repair for you. Simply complete the payment process and send your radio to us for the repair. We will typically perform the repair within 3 business days of receiving your radio. We use brand new parts and there is a 6 month warranty on the repair. And, unlike the fly-by-night shops, we replace all the bulbs behind the display window, not just the burnt out bulb(s).
INSTRUCTIONS
You will purchase the repair from this listing first. Then you will send your radio AND a copy of the payment confirmation email OR the Order Process email to:
Replacement Radios
Attn: Repairs
2301 S. Banker St, Ste B
Effingham, IL 62401
Please purchase delivery confirmation if you use USPS. (Tracking is included with UPS and Fedex.) Our techs do not answer inquiries, so questions about receipt of your package or estimated completion date will NOT be answered. Your tracking number shows when we received the package. The repair turn-around time is indicated above. You will receive a tracking number when it ships back out. If there is a problem or unexpected delay, we will contact you. Calling or emailing us about progress only serves to slow down progress. We know it's tough to go without a radio for a week or more but please be patient. Factory service centers take 3+ weeks to perform repairs, so we're clearly exceeding the standard.
Use common sense!! Please do not send your package without the requested paperwork or, at the very least, a note that indicates your Order Number. Between inventory, repairs, and returns, we get hundreds of items every week. Packages that show up without any documentation WILL experience a significant delay in processing.
ADDITIONAL INFO
The radio shouldn't lock when you get it back because it still has your VIN assigned to it. This is the benefit of repairing a GM radio versus replacing it. If you replace the radio you are guaranteed to need programming.
Please note that the version of the board we use does not have the light behind the cassette eject button or the Dolby symbol on the preset 6 button. This has no bearing on functionality of the buttons.
This service is for the burnt out display on radios that look like (or are VERY similiar to) the one pictured only. (Either am/fm/cass, am/fm/cd or am/fm/cd/cass in either Monsoon or regular.) Here is a list of vehicles that were offered with these radios:
- Aztek: All years
- Bonneville: 2000+
- Grand Prix: 2004+
- Grand Am: 2001+
- Montana: 2000+
- Sunfire: 2000+
- Vibe: 2004+
If you have another radio or your radio needs other repairs, please contact us for an estimate.
DISCLAIMER: Repair prices are based on the assumption that the radio is in it's native state. If it has been damaged by prior attempts to diagnose or repair a problem, additional parts may be required and, if so, additional costs will be incurred. Should we find this to be the case with your radio, we'll contact you BEFORE doing any additional work. However, should you elect not to have the additional work completed, there will be no refund for time and materials already put into the radio.
Make sure to remove any CDs or cassettes that are in your radio BEFORE you ship it. The units are prone to damage during shipping if they still have media in them.
