DETAILS
This package will allow you to listen to and control all 175+ channels of SiriusXM satellite radio directly through your factory radio. (See the application list below.) It can receive the Select or Premier programming. (Additional subscription fees apply for Premier.) It displays the same type of information (station #, song title, artist name, etc) as the factory satellite kits, yet it costs less.
Unlike external tuners that clutter up your dash and attract thieves, this interface allows control of SiriusXM satellite radio through your existing factory stereo. It is directly connected to the vehicle via the factory USB port, which allows you to retain factory options connected to the back of the radio. Since it is directly connected, you don't have to rely on the poor performance of an FM modulator or cassette adapter.
How does it differ from their first generation GSR kits? The Gen2 (g2) GSR kits provide the ability to add an optional fast charge USB port (2.4 amp). It allows for quicker charging on devices that support that capability. If the other guy's ad doesn't mention it, you're probably buying the older Gen1 device. The cable is an optional, extra-cost item. Please email if you have questions about it.
How does this differ from their GSR-51 product? The GSR-TY51 is designed to plug in behind the radio, where-as this GSR-TY01 plugs in the factory USB port on your dash (or in your console.) Unlike this GSR-TY51, you don't have to remove the radio to install this GSR-TY01, but you do have to tap into power and ground wires with this GSR-TY01, which you don't have to do with the GSR-TY51. Finally, the GSR-TY51 costs a little more than the GSR-TY01 because of the additional T-harnesses that are included and the fact it upgrades your USB port to fast charge capability. (The fast-charge upgrade is an optional, extra-cost cable with this GSR-TY01.)
INSTALL INFO
How's it installed? It's pretty simple really. Since it plugs in your factory USB port, you don't need to pull your radio like you do with most other kits. That will save you some time and effort. Step one is to route your antenna. (The manufacturer recommends it be outside the vehicle but some customer have good luck placing it on the dash. It is about the size of a half dollar so it is fairly unobtrusive.) Step two is to put all the equipment under your dash, out of sight. Step three is to connect the power and ground wires. Step four is to route the USB cable to the USB port in your console. (Or wherever it is located.) This may involve some relatively minor dis-assembly of your console. Since the USB port is often out of sight under a console lid, you won't even see you have something plugged in under normal conditions.
As mentioned, connection of power and ground will be required for use of this kit.
Please email us if you require more information.

*Unfortunately Toyota changed their radios mid-year in these models in 2014. There doesn't appear to be a guaranteed way to tell if you have a 2014 or a 2014.5. As a
general guideline, if you have a 2014 Camry or RAV4, you need to check your build date. (This is usually found on a sticker on one of the door jambs.) If your build date is after 1/1/2014, it is often considered a 2014.5 and this is
probably the kit you need. If yours was built before 1/1/2014, you
probably need the SL3SAT-SXV200 kit instead. Please take great care when installing your kit if you have a 2014 Camry or RAV4. If you find you need to exchange it, it (and the packaging) will still need to be in perfect condition.
