DETAILS
This BRAND NEW PIE auxiliary input adapter allows you to interface an external audio source with your factory radio, provided your vehicle is capable of controlling a remote factory CD player (slave single CD or CD changer). It is plugged into your radio in place of the remote CD player. (Yes, you will lose use of your remote CD player with this product. If you have a remote CD and want to keep it, we recommend the Peripheral PXGM9, which we also carry.) If you have a remote cassette drive, you can still keep it with this device since this uses the CD Changer mode. There is a T-harness included that you will plug your remote cassette back into.
A direct connection is FAR superior to the sound quality you get using an RF modulator OR cassette adapter device. Use this to add audio from a non-factory device like an MP3 player (iPod, iPhone, Zune, etc), a CD Changer, DVD player, satellite radio tuner, video game system, etc. Left and right female RCA inputs are utilized for true stereo sound. They are easily adapted to a 1/8" stereo mini jack or an iPod docking connection with one of the many adapters we carry. (Not included.)
Auxiliary audio input adapters are just what the name implies; a way to get audio from another device to the radio. Audio is sound. This means you will have volume control ONLY. (All auxiliary inputs are like this. You must upgrade to an interface to get control and display at the radio. Of course, interfaces are more expensive, so there is a trade-off.) Again, this is an input, not an interface. There is no charging capability because input means communication travels TO the radio, not from it. Plus, most aux input ports on radios do not have a power pin assigned to them. However, if your plan is to use this with an iPod, we do carry an optional (not included) adapter cable that could be used in conjunction with this device to direct connect to the docking port and provide charging. (Requires connection of power and ground wires.)
APPLICATIONS
This works in the following applications, but ONLY for radios that have the 9-pin auxiliary plug on the back AND are capable of controlling a remote CD player (single or multi). This does NOT mean it will work for you just because your radio has the 9-pin plug. For starters, your radio must have a TAPE AUX or CD AUX button OR you must already have a factory remote CD player. (The only known exception to these 'rules' are some of the Pontiac Monsoon radios from the 2000 and newer Firebird/TA. Some of these DO have CD controls, even though they don't have a CD/Aux button.)
If you have a TAPE AUX button and your vehicle is on the list below, this will work for you. (No need to call or email...) If you have a CD AUX button and your vehicle is older than a 2000 model year, this most likely will NOT work for you. In fact, it doesn't even work with all 2000 model year CD radios. We encourage you to do your research BEFORE you buy. If you want to EMAIL us your model number (2000 or newer ONLY, please), feel free to do so. (Yes, you will have to remove the radio to get the model number.) We will tell you if it's compatible. We would rather spend a little time up front than have you find you just bought a product you cannot use because returns are not accepted on opened items.

^ Some 2002 models marked with this symbol were offered with radios that use the newer 24 pin plugs. This interface is not compatible with the new plugs. The changer plug was different.
Theftlock may be activated if you unplug your 20-pin plug. Removal of that plug is not required for installation of this product so we recommend you leave it alone.
